Jörundur Ragnarsson is an Icelandic actor born in 1979. He graduated from the acting program in The Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2006 and in 2016 from the Film MFA program at Columbia University where he studied directing and screenwriting.

Jörundur’s acting career took off in 2006 and since then he has worked equally on stage, in TV and films. As of yet he has taken part in over 30 productions in theater and a myriad of TV-series, feature films and other film projects. His most prominent role was the character Daniel in the highly acclaimed and influential TV-series, The Night Shift, The Day Shift, and The Prison Shift. Additionally he performed in critically acclaimed TV-series such as World’s End, Manners, and Balls. Some of his other work includes performances in the films Rams, Woman at War, Reykjavík-Rotterdam, and The Quiet Storm, to name a few.

Alongside acting, Jörundur has worked as a screenwriter on a handful of TV-series and one feature film. In addition, he wrote and directed the short film, CHUM, which won multiple awards at film festivals around the world and an Edda award as the best Icelandic short in 2015. Jörundur has also worked as a creative director and copywriter for an advertising agency, as a fisherman, a teacher, a tour-guide, a wine salesman, a housepainter, and a bus driver.
